Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and passionate Interior Design Professional (Interior Designer, Design Consultant, or Interior Decorator) with 3–5 years of experience to join our growing team. In this client-facing role, you’ll guide clients through the design process—from discovery to delivery—offering expert advice, personalized solutions, and a polished shopping experience that makes them feel at home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Consultation: Provide personalized in-store, in-home, and virtual consultations to understand clients’ needs, preferences, and design goals.
  • Design Development: Create thoughtful design concepts, mood boards, and floor plans that align with each client’s style and lifestyle, using Liz @ Home’s curated product lines.
  • Product Recommendations: Offer expert guidance on furniture, lighting, textiles, and accessories to achieve a cohesive look within the client’s space and budget.
  • Project Management: Oversee project timelines, coordinate product orders, and ensure smooth delivery and installation experiences.
  • Relationship Building: Build lasting client relationships through excellent service, thoughtful follow-ups, and tailored recommendations to encourage repeat business.
  • Retail Sales: Actively engage with clients on the showroom floor to identify needs and introduce design solutions that convert foot traffic into sales.
  • Trend Awareness: Stay current on design trends, industry innovations, and product knowledge to ensure fresh, relevant recommendations.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with the Liz @ Home team to ensure alignment across projects and elevate the client experience.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in interior design, interior decorating, or design consulting—ideally within a home furnishings retail setting.
  • Design Expertise: Strong understanding of design principles, space planning, colour theory, and the ability to translate ideas into visually compelling, functional interiors.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with quality furniture and décor brands, materials, and finishes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to listen, connect, and present ideas with confidence.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven ability to drive retail sales through design services and in-store consultation.
  • Software Proficiency: Comfortable with design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Education: A degree or diploma in Interior Design or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience will also be considered.

Salary Range: $45,000 – $100,000+ (based on credentials, experience, and sales performance)
