The Gilt Bas Relief column (gilt bas means a surface where the carvings protrude from the surface) with Mughal inspired Lattice stars sits on a domed disc metal base. (Mughal furniture is characterized by its opulence and grandeur. It features intricate inlay work, carving, and gilding, and is often finished in gold or silver leaf.)
